PART B: PROJECT CONTEXT
B.1. Problem statement: This school is a secondary school affiliated with CBSE. This school was established by DoE in 2002 as a residential school and it is managed by STSS Dharamsala. The school is affiliated with CBSE and two batches have been gone through the class X cbse board examination till date. This is the only Tibetan secondary school in the whole district of Kullu. The school required a multipurpose Hall (MPH) along with a Library and Science lab. Though the school has a small prayer hall where important activities of the school are used to conduct but due to the increasing strength of students and staff and various types of activity, this prayer hall is now not enough to conduct school activities and to accommodate staff and students gathering at a time. The schools activities like cultural show, Assembly activities, exhibition and other functions can’t always conduct outside due the uncertain weather conditions of hills. Having a MPH the school routines and activities wouldn’t be affected by weather or other factors.

Regarding Library, at present the school library is adjusted in two classrooms and the requirement of a separate library room/department is very important and urgent. Science lab is also adjusted in a single classroom where there isn’t enough space to conduct practical/experiments even for a class altogether and proper setting and displacement of science articles. Having a separate science lab and library we could have three spare classrooms to accommodate extra classes.

B.2. Specific objective/s. * To provide the basic required infrastructure for the benefit of students.
* To provide a required library where students can get a proper impact of environment and easy assess to books.
* To be able to carry on the school’s major activities as per the calendar without having any sorts of disturbances.
* MPH is required to provide facility for every day activities of individual classes, houses, groups & other practices.
* To provide a science lab where students and teacher can do experiment and other related work with ease.
* To be able to make proper displacement and storage of science articles.
* Being a CBSE affiliated school the requirement of a standard MPH, science lab, library and other infrastructures are the basic criteria for granting affiliation, extension and up-gradation.
B.3. Justification The school will have proper infrastructures for the students benefit and their all-round growth and development. It will fulfil the basic needs of students and the requirement of CBSE norms. The school’s activities could be conducted as per the school calendar without depending upon weather conditions. These will fulfil ours objectives as mentioned above (B2).
