Tibetan Unicode Umed-fonts instructions & download:
Sambhota Tibetan Schools Society has completed 2 Tibetan Unicode fonts (Umed) to facilitate effective Tibetan language teaching learning transaction in Primary classes. This project was completed with persistant help from Mr. Dezawa Ichiro, a Japanese engineer. The head office and students under this administration extend our heartiest thankfulness for his time and hardwork for making this project a success.
We have attached the 2 fonts samples in PDF format for your ready reference.
TWO UNICODE FONTS ARE:
1. Tibetan TsugRing (OTF) 2. Tibetan Sambhota Yigchung (TTF)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Download both fonts and COPY & PASTE in My Computer --> C --> Windows --> Fonts folder (directory)VIEW SAMPLES IN PDF FORMAT OR MICROSOFT WORD ARE:
1. Donkey in disguise of a lion (storybook sample) ------> PDF format2. TsugRing on A3 format ---> Microsoft Word format | PDF format
3. Yigchung on A4 format ---> Microsoft Word format | PDF format
COMPATIBILITY OF TIBETAN UNICODE FONTS:
Since it is a Unicode font, it will work in Microsoft products above 2003 version, Open Office 3.1 or InDesign3 or the latest update version.NOT COMPATIBILITY WITH TIBETAN UNICODE FONTS ARE:
1. PageMaker (Any version as it doesn't support Unicode fonts)2. Coral Draw (Any version as it doesn't support Unicode fonts but 14X did support some portion of unicode but it didn't fulfill our requirements by designing a book or simply the title of the book)
3. Photoshop3
KEYBOARD TO USE:
1. Either you use TCRC Unicode keyboard,2. Dzongkha keyboard,
3. Himalaya Unicode keyboard
4. Monlam Unicode keyboard or any other Tibetan Unicode keyboard that you might be working on.
KEYBOARD WHICH ARE NOT COMPATIABLE:
1. TCRC Bodyig keyboard2. Monlam version 1 & 2 keyboard or
3. Earlier version of keyboard that it doesn't support Tibetan Unicode Keyboard
